Mr. C. R. Crull, of Helena, Ark., arrived in Greenwood the first of the week and will make this city his future home. Mr. Crull will be manager of Solomon's Shoe Store, which will open business here August 1st in the house now occupied by Barrow & Price's gents' furnishing department. This new exclusive shoe store will carry a complete line of everything in footwear, and Mr. Crull says all the latest styles will be made a specialty. We welcome him to our city and bespeak for his firm great success.

Messrs. Barrow & Price, who have been engaged in the dry good business in this city for the past several years, filed a petition in voluntary bankruptcy last Monday evening, and the Referee in Bankruptcy has called a meeting of creditors, to be held on August 25, to appoint a trustee and transact such other business as may be necessary to wind up the affairs ofthe late firm.
The liabilities of the firm are $14,608, and the assets are $11,000.
Greenwood, as well as most places in the State, has had rather poor business in the past few months, collections have been slow and money difficult to borrow. We hope, however, that Messrs. Barrow & Price will be able to arrange matters so that they can resume business at an early date.
