According to an eye witness account, two armed bandits held up the Rising Sun Night Club Sunday morning, hit one patron over the head with a pistol butt and made a clean get-away with many rings, watches and several thousand dollars.
The robbers, who had been seen around the night club the week before, herded the employees and patrons into the clubroom, told them to stand against the wall with raised arms, and proceeded to ransack the place.
While this was going on, one young lady took the opportunity to take off her rings and wrist watch and put them in her mouth, thus saving them from the person to person shakedown that followed.
The bandits then told their victims to remain standing against the wall for 15 minutes and not to say anything about the occurrence if they knew what was good for them. Upon such an order, the gangsters made a speedy departure in a high-powered automobile.
