The city's new 12-inch artesian well was completed yesterday, and it flows 1000 gallons of pure, clear water a minute. This mammoth well cannot be equaled anywhere, and is a guarantee that Greenwood will never again suffer for the want of good water and plenty of it.

The above is a photograph of the mammoth new artesian well completed in Greenwood last week by the Light and Water Commission. This well is 750 feet deep and overflows over 1000 gallons of pure water per minute, through a 6-inch pipe, and gives Greenwood unquestionably the best water supply of any place in Mississippi. It gives a natural flow of eighteen feet above the surface, and has been the center of attraction ever since it has been completed. It is estimated that this well will furnish an abundance of water for a city of 50,000 people.
